Pilotwings Resort is a launch title we’re all looking forward to here at 3DS Tribe, not least because it’s coming out in Europe before anywhere else. A handful of new screenshots were released recently. We also now know the name of the game’s developer…
…it’s Monster Games, the team behind the Wii’s recent three games in the Excite range: Excite Truck, Excitebots and the WiiWare Excitebike: World Rally title. Their back catalogue consists entirely of racing games, which makes Nintendo’s choice for them as developers of a leisurely, cartoony flight sim a little left-field, to type the least. Still, that’s what Nintendo do best.
The full-size versions of these screenshots are gigantic – 2500 x 1500, fact fans – and the detail is incredible (click on the screens to view them at 2500 x 1500). We were worried that Wuhu Island wouldn’t look that good on a handheld but we have just been blown away.
In fact, forget the words – let’s just fill the rest of this with the screenshots.

Tut tut - with the world's helium supplies running out, we cannot afford to use the precious gas just for 'fun'.
Pilotwings Resort’s release date is 25 March. You can pre-order Pilotwings Resort from the following UK retailers: Amazon, GAME, zavvi, play.com, HMV, shopto.net

Blimey – the game is looking stunning. Despite a few blurry textures I’m amazed at how great the game looks at even 1500p!
Whoa! Fantastic graphics right there!

One of the games I’ve got on preorder. Nothing I’ve seen makes me regret this decision – looks like the perfect game to show off the technology.
Hope this is better than the SNES version! I remember all you did was take off and land and there seemed to be a game missing inbetween!
Just imagining the depth when looking down on the island from way up high is making me giddy.
I wonder if there’s an option to see the back of your head when creating your Mii – looks like we’ll be seeing a lot of it.
It’s seeing games like this that make me even more determined to get the 3DS. This looks amazing!
